Project Description
RMS has successfully assisted its clients with the investigation and closure of regulated and unregulated underground storage tanks (USTs) throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. RMS understands the notification requirements, sampling protocol and required analysis depending on UST contents. We also understand the investigation and reporting requirements unique to the New Jersey Unregulated Heating Oil Tank (UHOT) program. RMS performs UST investigations and closures in accordance with applicable state and federal rules, laws and guidance and applies for the required local permits prior to closure.
When a release is detected during closure RMS performs an investigation to identify and delineate contaminated soils, groundwater and potential vapor intrusion issues. We work with the owner to develop a remediation strategy that satisfies regulatory requirements while remaining cognizant of the overall project budget. We provide the owner with copes of the proper waste documentation and backfill excavations with certified clean fill. We prepare the required closure report and remedial action reports and provide copies to clients prior to submittal to the regulatory agency.
